Dr. Dipsikha Bhagawati is basically a film critic, translator, and a creative writer. She is a master’s graduate from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, and has ascertained ‘Film Appreciation’ from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. A member of the Film Critics Circle of India and a media correspondent of IFFI, Goa, 2023, she has served as a member of the FCCI jury in the Kautik International Film Festival, Uttarakhand, in 2021 & 2023 and in the New York Indian Film Festival, 2023. Her translated book “Film Appreciation” (from the original Assamese book written by national award-winning film critic and film maker Utpal Datta, entitled “Chalachitrar Rasaswadon, winner of the Assam State Film Award) marked its official release at the International Film Festival of India, IFFI, Goa, 2021. Her second book, “Literature and Film: From Mute to Motion,” has received much critical acclaim. Dr. Bhagawati regularly contributes to film and literature in international film journals, magazines, books, and newspapers in both English and Assamese and is invited as a resource person to multiple film seminars and talks organized by universities and colleges across the state and by digital media platforms. She was associated with the British Council of India as a master trainer of English language.
